Grand Traverse Bay Tour on the Cessna 172SP - Traverse City, MI - Time Lapse
On July 18 2012, we took off from Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport (KTVC) in Skill Aviation's Cessna 172SP which is equipped with the G1000 panel.
Flew Northeast over Grand Traverse Resort, then North over the East Bay to the tip of the Grand Traverse peninsula where we saw all the vineyards and cherry tree orchards.
Flew West to the picturesque town of Suttons Bay where we went bike riding and enjoyed a gorgeous day in the warm Lake Michigan waters two days before.
Then headed West to untouched by civilization South Manitou Island at 3,500 feet
over the clouds where it felt like we were not moving for a few moments while over water.
Headed South to the Sleeping Bear Dunes to see the spectacular 300 foot sand dune drops that looked enormous from the air but never made it to the South part of the dunes where we did our kayak tour because of a thunderstorm.
And finally flew East to Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport (KTVC) to land before the Piper Cub and the Delta Connections flight just behind us.
Total Flight Time 1 hour compressed in just 8 minutes.
Running time: 09:10.
