Flying in GREECE! Coffee in Syros, Lunch in Pachi, and Two Flights in Between - Part 2
Update 6/6/2018: As of today Kyp is the President of AOPA Hellas. We wish him best of luck in the immense task of making Greece one of the best General Aviation places in the world.

There are a few things about General Aviation that epitomize the freedom of flying. One of them, for me, is the freedom of flying in the Country that celebrates the human spirit and invented Democracy and personal liberty. That Country is non-other than my motherland, Greece or as we like to call it Hellas!
While I had to go to Hellas for business, I arranged to meet with my friend Kyprianos "Kyp" Biris, who happens to be the Vice President of AOPA Greece. Kyp has access to a beautiful Socata TB20 Trinidad through the local flying club in Megara Airport (LGMG) near Athens.
We decided to go flying and our destination would be either Mykonos or Syros Islands, both a short hop from Megara. It ended up being Syros Island (LGSO) which was a bit more convenient that day. And what a treat it was!
On this second part we fly VFR as filed and then request an alternate route transitioning the LGAV (Athens International Airport) airspace at 500 feet with spectacular views of the Athens Riviera, one of the most luxurious pieces of real estate in the Europe.
